LGBTQI therapy is important because the LGBTQI community has long been met with judgement and condescension. While society has made progress in recognizing gender fluidity and same-sex attraction there is a very long way to go. Heteronormative predominate society results in the seclusion of and internalization of negative self-talk over the developmental stages in childhood and beyond.
Discrimination and micro-aggressions are rampant and tolerated by normative social groups. This creates damage and can result in anxiety, depression, and mood disorders for the LGBTQI community members to navigate. KC Life Counseling wishes to provide a safe, non-judgmental, unconditionally regarded place to be heard and supported. We offer online LGBTQI affirming therapy for teens, adults, and their families.

As a former educator, I find that it is a passion of mine to work with children and adolescents. Having the unique experience of being a former teacher, I am experienced at working with and relating to children and their experiences. Another passion of mine is working with and advocating for the LGBT community in Kansas City.
It is my goal to serve this community by providing a supportive and a non-judgmental place for members of the LGBT community to express themselves, while providing insight and resources to help them on their journey.
