Welcome to KC Life Counseling
It is a pleasure to meet you. Congratulations on taking the first step toward your goals. I look forward to meeting you in person. In order for that meeting to be as relaxed as possible, this page is designed to welcome you and help you become familiar with the therapeutic process. My office is the lower level of my home. It has a separate entrance, a sidewalk, street parking, and signs directing the way. There is a sign on the door indicating when I am “in session” and when you are “welcome” to come on in. Please notice there are photos of these features on this page. Sometimes, sessions run over a few minutes. If this happens, you are welcome to have a seat on the deck or wait in your car and watch for the previous client to leave. You are welcome to text, email, or call me. I may not be able to respond immediately but will do my best to return your communication quickly. Please be mindful of the clocks in the room, as someone may be waiting on you.
Environment is Everything
My location is very discreet and unlike many cold, clinical offices. There is a fridge with water and soda, coffee and teas, candy treats, white noise machine, soft music, and toys to give your hands something to do while you talk, if you desire. I offer a couch or chairs. I want you to be comfortable. Upon your initial visit we will discuss the paperwork and finances. Payment is expected at the time of service. You are encouraged to click on the schedule a session button to request an available session time that works for you. Once your session request is approved, you will receive an email containing a link and as pass code. You will click on that link and using your email and the 4 digit passcode, log into the client portal. Once inside the portal, you will find all the necessary paperwork to complete and electronically sign. Please feel free to contact me if you have an issues. As a last resort, you can print off the paperwork and bring it with you or complete it in office.
Take the next Step
That should give you a pretty complete picture. It is my job to help you define your struggle, establish goals towards healing, encourage you to think and consider other perspectives, ask you solution focused and motivating questions. It is your job to keep your appointments, give thought to the homework if assigned, and be encouraged about the positive changes you are making. Please fill out the New Client Paperwork to make things easier for your first visit. See You Soon!
